Please welcome our new Endocrinologist Martin Sarkar, D.O. to our Spring Ridge Office! Dr. Sarkar was raised in Augusta, Georgia. He attended Mercer University for his undergraduate degree and went onto West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine where he completed their Doctorate Program in 2004. Dr. Sarkar furthered his education with completion of the residency program at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in 2007. Dr. Sarkar is an Army Veteran and has held many leadership positions during his extensive career. He has experience with thyroid ultrasound and fine needle aspiration biopsies, Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGM), and Insulin pumps. Dr. Sarkar offers expert care for various metabolic, pituitary, and diabetes-related conditions, osteoporosis, and thyroid disease, including thyroid cancer and thyroid nodules. His clinical focus is on managing diabetes, its complications, and associated comorbidities with the use of novel therapies as well as emerging technologies, including continuous glucose monitors and insulin pumps. Dr. Sarkar is excited to start his new position with FPCA and help us provide excellent care to the Frederick community!
Outside of work, Dr. Sarkar enjoys traveling, watching sports, and spending time with his 3 children. He has also participated in the community with the American Diabetes Association-Maryland Chapter and Greater Baltimore Temple. His favorite travel destination to date is Switzerland and looks forward to travelling to many other locations in the future. With his extensive expertise, Dr. Sarkar is excited to contribute to FPCA and looks forward to serving our community for many years to come.
