Dr. Karen Hundemer was raised in Rockville, Maryland. Her father grew up in Dayton, KY, on the Ohio River. Her mother was a DC native. Dr. Hundemer's maternal grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Bennett, grew up at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain in the late 1800's.

Additional Relevant Information

After serving as a US Public Health Physician in underserved western North Carolina, she and her family moved back to Maryland. in 1990, residing in Walkersville for the last 32 years.
Dr. Hundemer has survived two bouts of breast cancer. She loves spending time with her husband (her high school sweetie!), her three children and their spouses, and her three granddaughters. She loves to read, sew and quilt.  She also loves to freeze and can organic vegetables that her husband grows in his Heritage Park garden plot.
