New Medicare Cards

Over the years, Medicare has always issued beneficiary identification cards using patient’s social security numbers. With the increasing number of identity theft cases, fraud and growing concerns, they have decided to issue a new, unique, randomly-assigned number called a Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI). If you are in the Maryland, DC, Pennsylvania and Virginia region, you are in the first phase of the mailings. Subscribers will receive new Medicare cards in the mail, between April 2018 and June 2018.
