Swine Flu Information
The physicians of Frederick Primary Care Associates understand that many of our patients are afraid and in need of reliable information on the recent outbreak of swine flu. Below, we have listed some simple facts and ways you can avoid contamination and/or avoid contaminating others:
- The incubation period is 1-7 days.
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Germs spread that way.
- Stay home if you get sick. The CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
We have included links to the State of Maryland's Swine Flu page and to the CDC Swine Flu general information page for your reference.
